Promoting hygienic offices for healthier work environments

Offices, clinics and workplaces are becoming increasingly hi-tech, which can present challenges to cleaning teams who are tasked with making sure they are hygienic and free of dust, dirt and germs. Thankfully, our well-trained staff know exactly how to clean electronic and electrical devices safely.

Promoting healthy work environments

The nature of modern IT equipment and other technology means it is often frequently touched by multiple users. This creates a high risk for spreading disease and infection. Regular cleaning is vital but it needs to be carried out in the right way.

Maintaining the lifespan of equipment

Much of the equipment we are talking about will have involved significant investment and will be highly valuable to the organisation. Dust, dirt and debris can affect performance and might even cause overheating or malfunction. Regular professional cleaning keeps this equipment in good operational order and reduces costs associated with maintenance, breakdown and repair.

Cleaning workplace devices, technology and equipment safely

Our cleaning teams are fully trained in this specialist area which means all our clients can be reassured that anything in their premises will be cleaned appropriately and safely, following best practice and the latest guidelines.

Staff will take extra care to disconnect devices and accessories and will use techniques such as compressed air to clear dust from items such as keyboards. All surfaces will be sanitised using materials that have been specially developed for sensitive electrical equipment.

We never use harsh chemicals or products that are not designed for the job and we use separate cleaning cloths for screens and delicate surfaces.

Phone handsets are a particular hygiene hazard, particularly in offices where employees hot desk or regularly swap workstations. We train our staff to know how to dismantle, cleanse, dry and reassemble telephony equipment.

Some devices such as printers and copiers are more complex to clean. In these cases we will often use manufacturer instructions to check the process for the specific make and model. We clean all external surfaces and any internal parts that could become clogged.

A cautious and expert approach

Our key objectives when cleaning technological equipment are to:

·     uphold a clean and hygienic environment

·     avoid damage

·     maintain good operational effectiveness, and

·     avoid moisture related damage.

All of this requires our teams to understand how they need to approach the cleaning of electrical and electronic equipment. We are incredibly proud of our high-quality online training portal, which can be accessed from anywhere by our cleaning staff. The fact that our senior management team personally visit every site is another important factor that will give peace of mind to businesses that use our services. This enables us to have a full overview of the environment and items to be cleaned so that we can create a tailored plan for cleanliness.
