Yorkshire Cancer Research has become the latest charity to benefit from a fund launched by Harrogate commercial cleaning firm It’s Clean Ltd.

It’s Clean Ltd Managing Director David Whan set up the fund last year to mark the firm’s 25th anniversary. Since then, 8 other charities have each received donations, with Yorkshire Cancer Research becoming the ninth.

David visited the Yorkshire Cancer Research Centre at Hornbeam Park in Harrogate to present the £250 donation to Corporate Partnerships Manager Isabel McKenzie. It’s Clean Ltd also has its head office on Hornbeam Park.

Isabel said: “Yorkshire Cancer Research values all the support  from the local community and the charity is grateful to have the backing of businesses like It’s Clean, who understand the importance of the work it does here in Yorkshire.

“This donation will help Yorkshire Cancer Research continue to fund vital cancer research and pioneer innovative new services for people with cancer in Yorkshire, and beyond.”

David said: “We are pleased to be able to use our anniversary fund to support the life-changing work of Yorkshire Cancer Research, particularly as they are one of our neighbours here at Hornbeam Park.

“We look forward to following the charity’s progress and the impact they make on people’s lives here in Yorkshire.”

It’s Clean Ltd has so far donated £2,250 to good causes within the local area where the business operates, including Time Together, Ripon Men’s Shed, Reusing IT, Martin House, Dementia Forward, Henshaws, Carers Resource and Horticap.

The charity celebrated its 40 th anniversary in 2024, the same year that It’s Clean Ltd marked 25 years in business. David Whan, Managing Director of It’s Clean Ltd, visited the charity’s Bluecoat Wood Nurseries on Otley Road this week to present a cheque for £250. He said: “We are delighted to use our anniversary fund to support the continuing work of this longstanding Harrogate charity and to fund vital skills training for adults in our community with learning and other disabilities. “Last year we allocated £2,500 for good causes to celebrate our 25 th year and Horticap is our eighth beneficiary. We are looking forward to announcing more donations to other local charities in the months to come.”
